Are classroom desks too small?
Any college students here, particularly older students (30+)? Ever try to sit in a two-hour class squirming in a seat made for skinny 18-year-olds that makes you WISH you were on an airplane?? And at the same time trying to take notes and concentrate? What do you do about that? Are there accommodations? Do you just bring a pillow and sit on the floor?

Classroom desks are always horrible. I've had back issues since I was a young child and sitting in those hard chairs for so long made my entire back shoot with pain. Not to mention your bum goes numb after an hour.
As for accomodations, I was allowed to sit in one of those rolly computer chairs for the majority of time because it become impossible to concentrate when I was in pain. However, those aren't exactly comfortable for long either.

I totally understand what you mean. I have learned to use my right knee as the second desk. Lecture halls are meant for lectures but often times, the university makes us take exams in them which is especially difficult for those of us taking science and engineering classes because we often need room for calculator and extra notes.
I suggest you to invest on a large clipboard or whatever you need and try to sit on the edge during exams. That way you have more room to operate. If you sit on the front row, you have more space for your legs. There is no magic bullet. You have to come up with innovative ideas to get through college.
